Resistance in Algorithmic Regimes
Thomas Zenkl visited VICESSE as part of our Brown Bag Lunch Series, where we regularly welcome academics and practitioners from fields closely related to our work. Thomas Zenkl is currently completing his PhD project on resistance in algorithmic regimes at the University of Graz. He presented the conceptual, methodological, and empirical key insights of his research, which sparked stimulating discussions and critical reflections. We thank him for his insightful talk and look forward to future exchanges.
We also highly recommend checking out this excellent paper, which we discussed with him yesterday: Zenkl, T. (2025). The taming of sociodigital anticipations: AI in the digital welfare state.
