VICESSE at the annual meeting of the Österreichische Gesellschaft für Geriatrie und Gerontologie
Last week, Victoria Kontrus and Stefan Hopf had the opportunity to present findings from the BUILD Project at the annual meeting of the Österreichische Gesellschaft für Geriatrie und Gerontologie (ÖGGG)
In their presentation, they explored autonomy risks in care transitions -particularly the move to residential care. They highlighted how this transition represents a complex conglomerate of risks to the autonomy of older adults, as institutional structures intersect with normative images of ageing and autonomy.
Looking forward to continuing this conversation and further engaging with how care systems can better support autonomy in later life.
